The THMED permanent division finished April 2016 with the most success since its inception. To honor the diligence and teamwork that helped achieve this goal, THMED sponsored a day out of the office at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
THMED employees attended the AT&T Byron Nelson golf tournament, one of the longest-running active tournaments on the PGA tour. Held annually at the Four Seasons Resort Dallas at Las Colinas, the AT&T Byron Nelson is a highly anticipated event in the Dallas area. Golf fans are able to follow the pros through the course while also enjoying the various attractions like evening concerts. THMED employees enjoyed a chance to spend time together to celebrate their successful growth as a team.
This day out is one of the many ways we like to reward our employees. At THMED, our mission is “Centered on Finding People who Care.” A great month means more physicians placed in new communities who can provide care to patients. We know it takes a huge effort from our employees to recruit in such challenging times, but their dedication and focus shines through. Fidelis Partners, a division of THMED celebrates its 7th anniversary today. Fidelis Partners is a full service healthcare recruitment and consulting firm specializing in permanent placement services. Since its inception Fidelis sought to create a new tier of excellence in healthcare recruitment and consulting by delivering consistent, ethically-driven and lasting results for its clients.
I was Fidelis’ first employee, joining from another healthcare staffing firm. It is amazing the amount of growth our company has experienced, all because we offer great service to our clients. 2015 was an incredible year marked by expansion in new markets, consistent results, and staff member growth. Both our California and Texas offices will celebrate the anniversary with fun-filled events (pictures to come in a future post). Our staff today is the best team in the industry. The current Dallas, Texas location is conveniently located within a few minutes from DFW International Airport, downtown Dallas, the Las Colinas business district, and numerous amenities. It also offers an onsite restaurant, on-site management, 24/7 courtesy officer, nearby jogging trail, and an upscale granite-clad lobby. Our new space will expand our current suite by over 10,000 square feet, making lots of room for new workspaces and meeting rooms.

Every year, an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. That’s about 700 new kids affected every day. THMED is partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to make a difference for childhood cancer. Donate, share and/or spread the word to your friends and colleagues. Make every cup count, one cup at a time.
When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand”, held with the help of her older brother Patrick, raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of eight—her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began.
The ALSF committee within THMED plans community outreach events for our employees and all donations are sent to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Between March 14th and April 14th, THMED employees are selling paper lemons to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Buy a lemon and write a note of gratitude to one of your co-workers, have your kids decorate it, or write an inspirational quote – the options are endless! “We hope this is a cause we can all get behind, and there will be more opportunities throughout the year to support the Foundation,” says Korey Adams, Resources Director for THMED.

Small companies are very team oriented and communicate with each other throughout the day. For larger, corporate companies it can be difficult to stay in contact with each and every member of the company. To make your staff come together and build a bond that is beneficial to the company as a whole, team building exercises and day-outings are a fun way to meet each other and connect on a different level.
THMED brought their California office to Texas to join the Dallas team. With five divisions (Fidelis Partners, Medestar, Allied Staffing Network, THMED Exec and myCVConnection) and two office locations (Aliso Viejo, CA and Dallas, TX) it can be hard to meet and connect with every individual. To break the barrier we traveled to Maggiano’s in NorthPark mall to attend a murder mystery luncheon. We started off by having 10 different teams formed from all of our divisions. Each team was assigned a color and task to create a team name and theme. The results were fun and a great way to show everyone’s creative side! As we dined on the delicious Italian cuisine actors played out a scenario that we had to solve. Was the murderer a cast member or one of our own? We explored the room we were in by interrogating other teammates, players on other teams and the actors. There were many theories being thrown around the room that made everyone laugh and communicate with others that they have never even met before. After deliberation, a few teams chose the right murderer and a few were far off, but in the end it was a great team building exercise.
Team building doesn’t have to be stressful or expensive. There are many ways to have your company come together and get to know one another. Try hosting a BBQ with DIY games, attending a sporting event or even a movie showing in the office with popcorn and snacks. Having a positive and uplifting company culture is an asset that improves the services and products of every company. If employees are excited to work every day with their co-workers they are more likely to produce quality and efficient work. Try an exercise with your company and see how well it brings your team together.
THMED prides itself on having a fantastic company culture. We have a “culture committee” that discusses ways to continuously keep our company exciting and growing on a personal and professional level. In 2015 we attended speed races, horse races, rodeos, sporting events, BBQ’s, and lake houses… just to name a few! We also went out into the communities and gave back as a team by partnering with food banks and shelters, as well as in-house volunteer projects and drives. We believe that keeping a constant focus on our mission and values creates a strong bond between every employee. In December, THMED employees took a day to volunteer locally in their communities.
On #GivingTuesday, our Dallas office volunteered at the North Texas Food Bank. The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked nonprofit relief organization, providing access to more than 170,000 meals each day for hungry children, seniors and families. Throughout the month of December, we collected canned food in the office, and then spent a day sorting, boxing and bagging food at NTFB.
Our California office volunteered at the Orange County United Way assembling home essentials for families in need as they get back on their feet and move into their own homes. We sorted donations of home essential items and arranged them in baskets for each family.
Both events were a great experience and opportunity to give back to our communities. We hope to continue our efforts to support the North Texas Food Bank and Orange County United Way

We attended the awards ceremony held at the Omni Hotel in Dallas. The staff popped 100 balloons filled with inspirational quotes and prizes and had fun taking silly pictures in a photobooth with fun props. THMED, LLC d/b/a Medestar announced that it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Health Care Staffing Services Certification. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing qualified and competent health care professionals.
Medestar underwent a rigorous on-site review in April 2015. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with national standards that assess how health care staffing firms determine the qualifications and competency of staff, placement of staff, and how they monitor performance. All certified health care staffing organizations are required to collect data on their own performance.
Health care staffing firms place temporary staff in organizations that direct or provide patient care. Established in October 2004, Health Care Staffing Services Certification, awarded for a two-year period, offers an independent and comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm’s abilities to provide competent staffing services.
